I usually wear a random comfy shirt with jeans and sneakers. The only variety in my usual outfits are my shirts really as I always wear jeans and white sneakers. The shirts I wear are usually pretty monotone and if there is color its usually a dull or dark color. In this activity I wanted to branch out from what I usually wear and am comfortable in. I decided to wear a dress with a jacket and some platform sandals. The dress itself was out of my comfort zone, because I always wear jeans and it was also green which was neither dull nor dark in color. I almost always wear my black fuzzy jacket but instead chose to wear my tan corduroy jacket. I also wore platform sandals which I never wear because I like to be comfortable and wear sneakers all the time.
Even though I was initially uncomfortable wearing this outfit I got a lot of compliments from my roommates on it when they saw me. They immediately said something to me about my outfit when they saw me, because it was unlike me to wear such a thing and be so dressed up. They said I looked more girly than I normally look and when I asked what major they thought I looked like they weren’t able to give me a direct answer They are not used to seeing me as dressed up, and even encouraged me to wear more outfits like this instead of my usual jeans, shirt, and white sneakers. In conclusion I really liked this activity because it allowed me to branch out from what I would usually wear. I think I might start incorporating elements of the new outfit into my everyday clothing, like wearing more color and maybe not wearing jeans and sneakers every day.
